The webinar intends to examine the feasibility of applying a central securities depository and real-time gross settlement linkage model to collective investment scheme passports in Asia. The research objective is considered a constructive approach to enhancing the operational efficiency and global standing of the Asian financial infrastructure.
The webinar will consist of information sharing and question and answer sessions for one hour: a 30-minute expert presentation and 20 minutes for question and answer.
This CSIF webinar will invite CSIF and ABMF members and observers, market players and experts from the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, as well as government officials from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) plus the People's Republic of China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea, collectively known as ASEAN+3.
The Cross-Border Settlement Infrastructure Forum was established in 2013 by the ASEAN+3 finance ministers under ABMI. The members of CSIF are composed of the central banks and central securities depositories of the ASEAN+3 economies. CSIF is mandated to facilitate discussions of the ASEAN+3 region's cross-border bond and cash settlement infrastructure, including the establishment of a regional settlement intermediary.
