Emerging East Asian Local Currency Bond Markets: A Regional Update

Local currency bond markets in emerging East Asia expanded to USD20.3 trillion at the end of March, with divergent yield dynamics tracking market-specific factors. The ASEAN+3 sustainable bond market expanded to USD301.3 billion at the end of March, accounting for nearly 20% of the global sustainable bond market. The region is now the second largest regional market after Europe.
