Emerging East Asian Local Currency Bond Markets: A Regional Update

The size of emerging East Asia's local currency bond markets rose to USD16.3 trillion at the end of March, according to the latest issue of the Asia Bond Monitor. The report said that between 28 February and 29 May, yields at the shorter-end fell for nearly all emerging East Asian bond markets as central banks and governments acted to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
