MAS publishes an annual survey of the corporate debt market, which is available by following the link provided below. The survey includes data on outstanding corporate debt, issuer profiles, and debt maturity structure.
Asset securitization in Singapore took off in 2006 as asset-backed securities transactions grew remarkably, to SGD19 billion from SGD13 billion in 2005. Notably, there was an influx of more structured products in the market such as convertibles and synthetic collateralized debt obligations. Since the first listing in 2002, Singapore’s real estate investment trust (REIT) market has grown to become the largest in Asia, outside of Japan, with a capitalization of over SGD26 billion.
