Market participants comprise issuers and investors. The issuers are further divided among government, corporate, supranational, and foreign borrowers. As for investors, short- to medium-term maturity issues are invested in mostly by the Government, financial institutions, and retail investors. Pension funds, insurance companies, and other asset management companies invest in bonds with longer maturities.
