To develop Myanmar's financial sector, the Government has started drafting a Securities Exchange Law. Details are discussed in this section.

A Securities Exchange Law is currently being drafted by Myanmar's Ministry of Finance and Revenue (MFR) and the Attorney General's Office. This is an important step toward providing the necessary rules and regulations for securities market activities, including the functioning of the Myanmar Securities Exchange Center, which opened in July 1996.
