Banks and other securities companies may provide online secondary trading.
Basic bond calculators illustrate the various relationships between price, yield, coupon rates, and maturity dates, utilizing the mathematical pricing conventions common in the market.
Users can input the details of a security, such as yield, coupon and maturity to derive market price; or they can input market price, coupon, and maturity date to derive yields.
Calculator results are purely indicative and should never be used as a replacement for the actual prices of securities obtained from the marketplace, as specific security conventions may vary from market conventions.
There are no online forms investors can use to directly buy government bonds. For primary issues, forms, and other requirements, the Fully Automated System for Tendering ( FAST ) is used. Sample forms for bidding are in the Appendix of FAST rules, published by Bank Negara Malaysia.
