The Government has issued a Financial Sector Blueprint that will be implemented before a bond market is developed. China, People's Rep. of CN Ownership of PRC corporate bonds in limited to local and Qualified Foreign Institutional Investors Hong Kong, China HK Hong Kong, China's corporate bond market investor base now includes retail investors. There are no restrictions by foreign investments. Indonesia ID Indonesia’s corporate bond sector is small but growing. Generally, there are no restrictions to foreign and domestic investments for corporate bonds. Japan JP Foreign and local investors have equal access to Japanese corporate debt instruments with no limitations on ownership. Korea, Republic of KR Korea’s corporate bond market is open to foreign and local investors. Lao PDR LA There is currently no corporate bond market in Lao PDR. The government is focusing on developing its financial sector, particularly the banking sector. Malaysia MY Malaysia’s corporate bond market comprises conventional and Islamic Private Debt Securities, which are available to foreign and domestic investors. Myanmar MM There is currently no corporate bond market in Myanmar. The government is taking steps to develop a capital market. Philippines PH Philippine corporate debt securities is limited. Both domestic and foreign investors may hold corporate debt. Singapore SG Generally, there are no restrictions on local and foreign ownership of Singapore corporate bonds. Thailand TH Thailand’s growing corporate bond market is generally open to foreign and domestic institutional and retail investors Viet Nam VN Vietnam's corporate bond market is beginning to develop. The government is initiating measures to encourage corporate bond issuances.
