Policy Initiatives and Reforms

As the financial markets regulator for Hong Kong, China, the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) works with market participants such as the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEx) in assessing and implementing reforms and policy initiatives.

In January 2009, the Financial Secretary called for a review of Hong Kong, China's regulatory structure, with the aim of improving the regulation of banks and securities firms, and enhancing investor protection.
