Intermediaries
The China Securities Regulation Commission (CSRC) licenses securities companies and dealers of listed stocks and bonds, as well as investment advisers, fund management companies, and Qualified Foreign Institutional Investors (QFIIs). Lists of licensed securities and fund management companies, and investment advisers are not yet available in English.
CSRC and the People’s Bank of China (PBC) regulate the stock exchanges and the interbank market, respectively. Quota allocation and approval for issuance of corporate bonds is subject to the approval of the National Development and Reform Commission. A more comprehensive discussion on market regulators and supervisory structures is available under the section on Rules and Regulations.
