Audit and Accounting Standards
The Ministry of Economics and Finance (MEF) established the National Accounting Council and the Khmer Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors in 2003. An Accounting Law has been adopted in compliance with International Accounting Standards (IAS). Banking and financial institutions licensed by National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) must comply with Cambodian Accounting Standards.
Bankruptcy
There is currently no comprehensive law on insolvency and bankruptcy in Cambodia. However, these issues are addressed under several other laws, including, for example, the Law on Banking and Financial Institutions.

Corporate Governance
The Government entered bilateral agreements for the promotion and protection of investments with several countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, and the US; and is currently negotiating with many more countries.
The Financial Sector Blueprint for 2001–2010 contains a number of provisions to protect investors.
