Exchanges & Trading Platforms

The Bond Electronic Exchange (BEX) under the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) currently trades debentures or bonds of SET-listed corporations through an electronic trading platform. The BEX started trading government bonds in June 2005.

The majority of bond trading occurs over-the-counter. In September 2005, the Thai Bond Dealing Centre became the Thai Bond Market Association (ThaiBMA). The ThaiBMA is a self-regulating organization (SRO) that functions as an information center, code and standard setter, forum for bond market updates, and a frontline for market surveillance. It has also sold its newly developed electronic trading platform to the SET.
