Derivative Markets

The Securities Commission (SC) regulates the derivatives market.

Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Bhd is the sole exchange for the futures and options market in Malaysia. Regulation of the exchange is shared between the Securities Commission and the exchange itself. The SC administers the Futures Industry Act while Bursa Malaysia Derivatives administers its Business Rules as a self-regulatory organization.

Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Clearing Bhd is the clearinghouse for Bursa Malaysia Derivatives. It is responsible for all clearing and settlement procedures for futures and options trade. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bursa Malaysia Securities Clearing Sdn Bhd.
