The International Securities Identification Number is the market standard for international bond issuances.
On the interbank (including OTC) government bond market, the China Government Securities Depository Trust & Clearing Co. Ltd. (CDC) is responsible for coding bond products. The first four digits are the year of the bond issuance, e.g. 2001, the subsequent two digits represent the sequence of the issuance that year, and the last two digits represent the tenor. Therefore, 20010307 means the 3rd issuance 7-year bond in 2001.
On the stock exchanges market, the Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges have their own coding systems for different listed government and corporate bond products executed by the China Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation Ltd. |
